Welcome to new blogroll addition Valentine Low, whose book of allotment tales, One Man and His Dig, is due to be published in May. I look forward to reading more about life on his tiny allotment site in London (just 15 plots! you really must get to know everybody).I look forward to reading more about life on his tiny allotment site in London (just 15 plots! you really must get to know everybody).
Valentine, a fellow hack, has already enlightened me about sprout tops, which are the latest big thing in London gastropubs, apparently - I think I've been out of the smoke for too long while on maternity leave, I'm so out of touch with the gastro zeitgeist.
He is pictured with a rather splendid looking pumpkin in his first post, which has reminded me to rescue my final two squash from the table in the garage and do something culinary with them. It could be a soup, a pie or even roasted for my daughter to try. She's a big fan of all things orange (sweet potato, red Leicester cheese, tangerines ...) so I have high hopes.
I will definitely check that one out, how can anyone cope with fifteen allotments!
