I've just read one of the first reviews for my book, The Allotment Keeper's Handbook, and I'm delighted to say it tickled me pink, particularly as it's in one of my favourite mags, the excellent Organic Gardening. Editor Gaby Bartai Bevan says:
There have been rather a lot of allotment books of late. This one, though gets promoted to the top of the pile instantly; it's very good. Its author has a way with words that I envy, and while it is a very personal book, the horticultural information is exemplary.
Gaby also gives a plug for this blog, so hello and welcome if you're an OG reader!
There are various other reviews and interviews in the pipeline - I'll try to let you know when and where if you want to keep up with my exploits.
Your version of Potatoes Boulangere looks yummy! And I love the little tops you put on your jars :) I`ll be back for another visit for sure!

Dear god I wish I had that many blackcurrents left in my freezer but we ate them.... all. This is not difficult when you make jam and have a fine recipe for black (or red) current frangipane tart... A sort of real fruit bakewell made with sweet pastry where the currents replace the jam and explode nicely into the almond filling. Dead easy. Disturbingly addictive. Horribly fattening. And just the most delightful breakfast of a late summer morning. Do you post recipes?

That tart sounds delicious - do reveal the recipe! Plan to get some more sugar and make the jam which I've been palming off very successfully on friends and family ...
