I know I am supposed to be working on the book this morning, but something momentous has just happened: I just saw the first butterfly of the year! A brimstone, spotted fluttering around the Aucuba in my back garden.
Spring really is here. And the clocks go forward tonight: dark evenings, be gone!
And don't the spirits lift?

They certainly do. I spotted my first bumblebee of the year a little later and that delighted me too. And there were seven two-spot ladybirds in my porch brough out by the warm(er) weather...

I spotted a wasp today. And some dandelion seeds drifted past me and settled on the earth while I was planting some rocket. It's action stations all round pretty much!

Spring must be here, our Rosemary was covered with ladybirds yesterday (the rosemary bush that is)and we have blue tits starting to build a nest in the box which was ignored last year.
