Heritage veg audio

I've finally remembered to mention that you can hear me talking about Garden Organic (HDRA as was) and their adopt a vegetable scheme on last Saturday's edition of New Zealand Public Radio show This Way Up.

Do let me know what you think. Despite having done a lot of radio interviews now I can't bear to listen to any of them because I hate the sound of my own voice ...

Oi, Fearnley-Whittingstall, NO! Regular readers of this blog may recall that I am a bit of a Hugh Romantic: I've watched Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage TV series from the start, bought the books and savoured it all. Although he promotes what's an impossible dream for almost all of us - few have the time or space to devote to keeping pigs or even chickens - I liked the way he dived head first into the challenges of self-sufficiency and showed how interesting it can be to explore ways of finding food locally. Hugh review I've watched the video the new Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall programme The River Cottage Road Trip and, despite my criticisms of his recent form, I have to say that it was the usual fun romp. I particularly enjoyed the haggis hunting on the hills of Scotland, and the cheesecake with damson sauce looked droolworthy. But there's only one more hour-long episode to go, which seems strangely cut short. You can see what other fans are saying about the show on the River Cottage forum.
