A huge thunderstorm passed over my neck of the woods last night, inconveniently catching me driving home along an unlit country lane, lightning flashing all around me in my small metal box. The rain was so heavy I had to slow down to 15mph. Now I am worried about whether the downpour will have damaged some of the taller plants, including the Jerusalem 'chokes and tomatoes, on my plot. Only tonight's trip to the plot will tell. Wish me luck ... On the plus side, it does mean I won't need to do any watering for the next couple of days.
Sounds like at least you were dry looking forward to finding out how the patch fairs, our tall things were fine but I think a large block of sweet corn protected others. At the moment I am trying to persuade the volunteer veg patch staff that green manures would be a good idea your links have been helpful
