I am downcast this evening. After popping down the plot to pick some lettuce (now picking bunyard's matchless for the first time as you can see from the "now harvesting" list on the left) to discover that cold conditions overnight on Monday have turned many of my tomato plants to crisps.
The thought of no tomato crop this year is very depressing. It's the penalty of not having a greenhouse and having to rely on the vagaries of the British weather. I am hoping that at least some will pull through but it looks as if I may have to buy some more plants in, which is deeply disappointing. Every year, one crop or other fails, but the tomatoes? The gods are not smiling on me.
I have enjoyed reading your blog for some time now, and am so sorry to hear about the Toms, its such bad luck, up here in Yorkshire we think of early June as frost safe.
Hope you find some plants soon.
