Apologies for the hiatus. I've been camping in the (rather damp) Forest of Dean. And llama trekking. Hence the gardening has been rather light, and I only really have the energy to show you this picture. There's a house around the corner from me lived in by a rather elderly chap: it's immaculate, front and rear, and set out in a style that's frozen in time.
The front garden is a seventies-style huge rockery (pictured) smothered in aubretia which, at this time of year, is a riot of colour: at the back, it's a no-frills, productive vegetable patch and greenhouse. The whole scene reminds me of my grandfather, who was a very keen allotmenteer. Must be where I get it from.
absolutely beautiful, and the grandfatherly old man (who tends to the flowers and garden in the back) adds much to the scene!
