Normal service resumes

Friday was Horticultural's first birthday, and I had planned lots of special features to celebrate. Work, however, got in the way.

I am back from my trip to Kansas, so I'll be back to blogging here with a vengeance tomorrow. Belatedly, I'll at least try to put together a Horticultural A to Z for you to mark one year in the blogosphere, and possibly a montage of allotment pictures from the past 12 months.

My main worry in a horticultural sense right now is how to chit my pink fir apple potatoes. I hear they're sometimes a little reticent. All advice welcome ...

Kansas blogging I am in Salina, Kansas covering the GlobalFlyer attempt for Guardian Unlimited so blogging will be light this week. Not much to say about Kansas from a horticultural point of view so far, other than to say that the grass looks very dead and the landscape very flat. I did learn last night that Salina is known for its sunflowers, although it's obviously completely the wrong time of year to see that.
