Buddy from Texas emails to ask:
Do you know of any grass that will grow easily in an area that currently does not have any grass? Part of my back yard is the end of a creek bed but never retains any water like a creek bed might. The soil is in pretty good shape. I just want something that I can throw down like a seed and it will just start growing. I don't really want to till this area up. Any suggestions you can give is much appreciated. Also, I am looking for something cheap and hardy. Possibly something that does not grow quickly.
My knowledge of Texan lawns is minimal, to say the least, but can anyone else help? Time for all you Texan garden bloggers to come out of the woodwork ...
Jane: Bill of prairiepoint may be able to answer the question. He's a blogger from Texas so you may want to send Buddy his way. http://www.prairiepoint.net/journal/
