My sister gave me this book, Gardener's Latin by Bill Neal, a while back. I got around to dipping into it over the weekend to discover some gems. I did Latin GCSE but most of the vocabulary has subsequently been squeezed out of my brain by other bits of information I saw as more important (the finer points of libel law, Teeline shorthand and the exact constituency of a killer risotto among them). But this book brought back a few phrases and offered an insight into how Latin names are selected for plants.
How can you mention killer risotto and not share the recipe :D
