The Wiggly Wigglers podcast goes Horticultural

I gave my first ever interview for a podcast this week. I was delighted to be able to chat with Heather Gorringe, founder of the natural gardening company, Wiggly Wigglers. We talk about the finer points of worm composting and what happened when I got an allotment, and I also gave a plug for my work in progress - the allotment book (no title as yet folks, although "Mud, Sweat and Tears" was an early reject).

The Wigglers' weekly show includes the marvellous "wormcast of the week" - a fact about worms from a little chap called Monty, plus chat about wildlife in the garden, worm composting and all things green. It's well worth a listen, whether you're interested in hearing me blathering on or not!

BouquetFor those of you who have no clue what a podcast is, all is explained on the Wiggly Wigglers website, where you can also subscribe to the Wiggly Wigglers weekly podcast via iTunes. If you prefer, you can just listen to this week's podcast as an MP3. I'd also recommend a visit to Heather's Wiggly Wigglers blog.

Heather was kind enough to send me a beautiful Wiggly Wigglers bouquet as a thank you for doing the interview, pictured here. It's full of gorgeous tulips, freesia, ivy and various other seasonal lovelies, and is now taking pride of place on my dining table.

Bette Midler on gardening:

  • "My whole life had been spent waiting for an epiphany, a manifestation of God's presence, the kind of transcendent, magical experience that lets you see your place in the big picture. And that is what I had with my first compost heap."
