Who are you?
I'm Jane Perrone, and I am a keen organic allotmenteer and gardener.
I also work as gardening editor for The Guardian's Saturday magazine, Weekend.
Why a blog about gardening?
I write about the things I wanted to read when I set out learning about horticulture: how do you set up a wormery? What the hell is a barbietola di chioggia? How do I become a gardener if I only have a windowsill in my flat?
So what makes you so qualified to blog about gardening?
My nickname at school? Botany. Need I say more? I had an allotment for several years but chose to give it up when I had a baby and moved into a house with a 70ft garden that needed revamping.
Anything else I should know?
My book, The Allotment Keeper's Handbook, is out now. If you've read it, why not write a review for Amazon.co.uk?
I'd like to send you a sample of my product/my books/some seeds to try. How do I do that?
Below is my policy on gifts and review products. If you agree to the policy, drop me an email and I'll send you my postal address.
1. I am happy to be sent product samples, books, seeds and other items appropriate to the remit of my blog, Horticultural
2. I will be under no obligation to make any reference to any product I am sent for review: I may or may not write about them on my blog, favourably or unfavourably
3. Where possible, once I have finished assessing a product, I will donate it to a local charity shop (aka thrift store to non-UK readers), to another appropriate charity raffle or recipient. This may not be possible in some cases, eg seed samples and perishable goods
